Meet our team:
Linda McDonough • Managing Director
In leading 50 Words, Linda helps clients with communications, strategy and marketing challenges. She has particular depth working across the financial services, professional services and healthcare industries, but draws upon a variety of cross-industry experience as well. She has assisted clients in all areas of corporate strategy development, market segmentation, marketing planning and implementation, new product development, sales force effectiveness, branding and business growth strategies.
She is a trusted advisor who has guided messaging and communications programs for clients in crisis situations, helping to strengthen stakeholder confidence and preserve value. Prior to founding 50 Words, Linda was Vice President for the Revolving Credit Group of Textron Financial, a subsidiary of Fortune 500 parent company Textron, where she led a team of marketing, strategy and communications professionals.
Linda is a former President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association. In addition, she serves on the board of the Philadelphia Network of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and is a member of the International Factoring Association, New York Institute of Credit and American Bankruptcy Institute. She served as President of the Catholic Charities Appeal Board of Directors for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Linda earned an MBA and Bachelor’s degree in Finance from St. Joseph’s University.
Lisa Rubano-Volansky • Marketing Director
As Marketing Director for 50 Words, Lisa Rubano-Volansky develops and delivers fully integrated marketing strategies for our clients. Lisa is a seasoned marketing executive with a highly strategic outlook and a natural marketing ability honed through working with dozens of organizations. Over the last 25 years she has worked across a wide range of industries including financial services, professional services, consumer products and services, distribution and manufacturing and non-profit trade associations.
She helps clients create clear marketing strategies that encompass all segments, analyze current marketing strategies, and measure the success of marketing and creative campaigns across their business. From start-ups through mature enterprises, Lisa helps clients stay relevant in the marketplace and forge deeper connections with their customers and referral partners.
Prior to 50 Words, Lisa was a Senior Marketing Specialist for the Revolving Credit Group of Textron Financial (NYSE: TXT Fortune 200). In this role, Lisa oversaw marketing communication activities and measurement systems supporting Textron Financial’s six asset-based lending and factoring businesses located in the U.S and Canada. Additionally, she was responsible for market research for new initiatives and existing business lines, planning and oversight of customer councils as well as management of the customer satisfaction and loyalty management. Prior to joining Textron Financial, Lisa was a retail banker with PNC Bank.
Lisa attended Penn State University and is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, International Factoring Association and Turnaround Management Association.
Scott Fraser • Crisis Communications/Public Relations Director
Scott Fraser is a veteran communications professional with more than 30 years of experience. His expertise includes crisis communications, public relations, media relations, and even voiceover talent.
He is a principal of Fraser Communications Group, a strategic partner of 50 Words. In this capacity, he has been hired to protect the reputations of companies in crisis, and gain positive public exposure for clients ranging from an emerging high-tech company to established organizations in healthcare, finance, manufacturing and business-to-consumer products. Previously he worked as a broadcast journalist and in corporate public relations.
Sought after as a public speaker, Fraser also is an adjunct professor at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, teaching courses in Crisis Communications and Public Relations.
He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), serving as Chair of PRSA’s Northeast District and is a past president of the Southeastern New England Chapter. He is a graduate of Tufts University.
Chuck Lusignan • Creative Director
As Creative Director for 50 Words, Charles (Chuck) Lusignan is responsible for managing creative, design and marketing solutions for clients. This includes brand development, design and implementation of brand identities, development of print and new media marketing initiatives, website development, and advertising. Chuck is also co-founder of Communication Arts Group, a strategic partner of 50 Words. Chuck has served the design and marketing needs of various national and regional brands including Hasbro, Avery Dennison, Allied Signal, Textron, Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA), and Lifespan, to name just a few.
He has facilitated the efforts of many client brand teams as they endeavored to articulate their brands and brand positioning as well as workshops on the importance of brand, branding and rebranding.
Chuck studied Advertising Design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Diane Sterrett • Copy Director
Diane is a fan of Mark Twain’s philosophy, “The difference between the almost right word and the right word is … the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.”
A writer with more than 25 years experience, Diane is a messaging expert and content provider. Her passion is finding precisely the right words for every situation: web content, blogs, ads, direct mail, outdoor, brochures, trade articles, even social media posts. She crafts concise, compelling, targeted messages that deliver results for a wide variety of clients, ensuring the message fits the medium, and vice-versa.
In addition, her marketing insight and strategic background keeps projects on message and supports marketing objectives. From single projects to multi-platform campaigns, she puts her expertise to work for you to capitalize on every communication your organization undertakes with fresh ideas and creative solutions.
Previously, she worked for a variety of advertising agencies as well as Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI, promoting brands, introducing products and increasing market share. She is a member of the Creative Communications Club of Providence, and sails whenever she gets a chance.
Diane earned her Bachelor of Arts from New England College in Henniker, NH.
